Summer 16 is coming to end, but you wouldn’t know it. Record-setting heat waves across the US and Europe are continuing long into August meaning we’re all sweating it out a little longer this year. Thankfully there’s a solution, a very yummy, satisfying solution. Ice cream! We’ve scoured the globe to bring you what we think are this summer’s best flavors. And the best thing is they’re all DIY. And for some, you don’t even need a mixer! Did we mention they’re all super easy?
And if you’re in the southern hemisphere, we haven’t forgotten about you, ice cream is a year-round treat and you know what they say, ‘treat yo self’!
Cool down with these 5 incredibly delicious recipes:
Cooking For Keeps.
3 Ingredient Banana Nutella Ice Cream
It’s literally made from three ingredients, bananas, Nutella, and vanilla. It requires 20 minutes of freezing and 2 minutes in a blender. Magic!
Creme de la Crumb.
Oreo Fudge Cookies n’ Cream Ice Cream
The best part about this unbelievably heavenly ice cream is that there is no mixing equipment required. No mixing! Just stir, pour and freeze and within 24 hours you have yourself a bowl of creamy, crunchy, fudge filled ice cream. An Oreo lovers heaven.
Adventures in Cooking.
Old Fashioned Blood Orange Ice Cream
The really cool thing about making this ice cream is the method. The mix is inserted between two zip lock bags half filled with ice cubes and Epsom salts and shaken, whipping it into ice-cream glory. So, it’s not as simple as that, and there a few steps to follow but we love this back to basics technique.
Tastes Lovely.
Strawberry Coconut Milk Ice Cream
Okay, we admit, this one takes a little more effort. Heating, mixing, blending and cooling. But Strawberry Coconut Milk Ice Cream, I repeat Strawberry Coconut Milk Ice cream. How can you resist? You can’t.
My Name is Yeh.
These Japanese inspired frozen treats seem too good to be true. Probably because they are. Easy to make? Check. Healthy? Check. Delicious? Check. Acceptable to eat any time of day? Check. These yogurt pops really are as simple as mix and pour, but the result is a creamy, textured and sometimes delightfully chewy pop!
